The New York City Fire Department (FDNY) unveiled its new $17 million command center Monday. The high-tech center, located in downtown Brooklyn, allows firefighters to view video from police helicopters and traffic cameras. Firefighters say the new technology will better allow them to assess emergency situations and deploy resources. The center was funded in part by the Department of Homeland Security which provided $14 million for the center.
