Highbridge Beauty Salon offered makeovers to a group of cancer survivors on Sunday.
With the help of nonprofit group Captain A Fighting the War on Cancer, 15 survivors received an afternoon of pampering.
In addition to providing a haircut and manicure, the event was also an opportunity to bond and share stories.
"To come by, sit down and get beautified, is something I enjoy. Even though I don't go out too often, this is something I like to do,” said cancer survivor Yasmin.
The founder of Captain A Fighting the War on Cancer says it is her mission to give survivors one less thing to worry about.
“I try to make it happen for them, so they don't have to worry about the expenses or anything,” she said.
