Residents at one Highbridge apartment complex say they are fed up with their broken elevator and want it fixed.
People living at 103 W. 165 St. say they have been living without an elevator for a month.
Residents say they've been told by their real estate managers, Alliance Housing Associates, that repairs have been held up for two months as the company awaits a replacement elevator part.
Heather Nunez lives on the sixth floor with her mom, who is eight months pregnant. Nunez has asthma, and says that not having an elevator puts a strain on daily life.
She says that she has to take a break to catch her breath when doing routine tasks, like bringing home groceries.
City buildings officials say the building has an open violation from 2009 that also involved an elevator issue.
Alliance Housing Associates has not responded to several requests by News 12 for comment.
