Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton hopped on a Bronx train Thursday to surprise and greet residents.
Straphangers on the No. 4 train got to shake hands with the candidate, and some said they were excited to meet her. She rode from Yankee Stadium to 170th Street.
Clinton, who served as a U.S. senator from New York and also as secretary of state, praised the city and the state.
The ride comes just after Clinton's rival for the Democratic nomination, Brooklyn-native Bernie Sanders, thought straphangers in New York still used tokens to hop on the subway.
"I think we changed when I was senator," Clinton said. "Was my first term when we changed from tokens to MetroCards."
Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. accompanied Clinton on the ride and gave her his endorsement. The two worked together during Clinton's time in the Senate.
"Someone asked me last week, 'Bernie is in the Bronx, are you feeling the Bern?'" Diaz said. "Well the Bronx hasn't been burning for decades."
