Travelers headed to Laguardia Airport Christmas Eve during what AAA is predicting to be record-breaking end of the year travel.
People like Akham say the holiday travel rush is worth it to be with loved ones.
“It’s great, it’s beautiful. You get to spend your holidays with your loved ones, so I’m looking forward to it," Akham said.

“We got here really early. Everything has been fine so far. We'll see how the rest of the day goes," Corey said.
The Transportation Security Administration reminds travelers to bring their REAL ID or passport as well as pack according to airport regulations to make the airport experience smoother.
Akham says if travelers run into hiccups, just remember that it's the holidays.
“You couldn't change what happened. So you just go with the flow because regardless, you got to enjoy your time. It's the holidays. You don't have to be frustrated. You just have to, like let things go and just enjoy the time," Akham said.
