House Republicans passed a sweeping bill this morning full of President Trump's legislative priorities.

This is a major win for House Speaker Mike Johnson but kicking off what is expected to be a bitter battle with the Senate over achieving key parts of the White House's policy agenda.

The bill is over 1,000 pages and is titled "The One Big Beautiful Bill Act".

The bill passed in a close 215 - 214 vote after days of marathon meetings.

The package includes measures to cuts in Medicaid and Food Stamps.

The bill includes a temporary boost in the standard deduction — bringing it to $16,000 for individual filers, and $32,000 for joint filers. The deduction reduces the amount of income that is actually subject to income tax.

There is also a temporary $500 increase in the child tax credit, bringing it to $2,500 for 2025 through 2028.

The bill also raises the Salt Cap allowing people to deduct state and local taxes up to $40,000 for people earning up to $500,000 a year. Democrats say it will hurt more people than it will help.

"I am going to oppose this bill because it is so unfair to everyday Americans, our middle class, and it threatens our economy as well as Social Security, Medicaid and other essential programs simply to finance tax cuts for the wealthiest," said Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal.

The president wrote in a celebratory post on Truth Social, "This is arguably the most significant piece of Legislation that will ever be signed in the History of our Country!"

The package is expected to undergo more changes when it goes to the Senate.
