Researchers are predicting what the weather conditions will be this winter.
Meteorologist Meredith Garafalo has a look across the nation and here at home.
The leaves are falling and temperatures are dropping across much of the country, but just how cold and snowy could it get this winter?
The annual U.S. winter outlook report is out from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
According to the forecast, the Pacific Northwest to the Western Great Lakes could experience a cooler-than-average winter, which would contribute to a wet snowy season with an above average precipitation forecast.
The southern half of the country and along the eastern seaboard, will likely see warmer-than-average temperatures due to the anticipated reappearance of La Nina for a third consecutive year.
