How to save money on your grocery list after the rise in prices
Our budgets are being hit by so many hikes as we battle inflation with the supermarket being one of those place hit hard. So, Consumer Reports shared with News 12 some tricks that could save you 25% off that grocery bill.
The most important thing when you are dealing with inflation is to budget. Be flexible - you may not be able to get that cut of meat, but maybe you find something that is a lesser cut.
Probably the most important tip is to look at store brands. Consumer Reports has tested a number of store brand items and they found that they are as good as or better than the name brand products and they can be almost 25% less than name brand products.
Another piece of advice Consumer Reports recommends is become a member of the shopping club that the markets have. They all have membership clubs that can save you money.
There are also independent apps that you can get. One of them for example is called ibotta, and what you do is you take a photograph of your receipt and it will give you a discount on the items that it has specials on.
