The New York Yankees held their 29th annual holiday food drive Wednesday at the team's stadium in the Bronx.

Marty Rogers, a participant for over 20 years, says he's glad that this tradition has stood the test of time.

"The food's going to local Bronx food pantrys, soup kitchens, very much needed and we know the needs in our community. We're just glad to be part of this," said Rogers.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., those who donated at least 40 pounds of non-perishable food got two free tickets to see the Bronx Bombers in 2024. Non-perishable foods include items like canned goods, sauces, oatmeal and more.

Rogers and Father Frank Skelly of the Immaculate Conception School and Church have been donating food together at Yankee Stadium for over 15 years, forming a special tradition.

This year, Skelly and Rogers weighted in with 1,500 pounds of goods, adding up to nearly 40 vouchers. Now, they'll be rewarding over 70 students with Yankee tickets.

All donations were accepted at Yankee Stadium's Gate 2.
