Hundreds of people attended the funeral Friday for a bodega worker who was fatally shot in Brooklyn.
Fadhl Moosa, 20, was shot in the head during an attempted robbery Tuesday.
Lt. Gov. Biran Benjamin and Attorney General Letitia James joined loved ones, friends and community members at Caesar's Bay Field for a final farewell.
The Yemen American Merchants Association says there needs to be more protection and security for bodega workers. Moosa is not the first bodega or deli worker to be attacked or killed.
"It could have been avoided if these guns were not on the streets," says Debbie Almontaser, of the American Merchants Association.
Mayor-elect Eric Adams addressed the situation earlier in the week, saying it takes a combined effort from police, lawmakers and the community to avoid tragic incidents like this.
Moosa's loved ones say he had plans to go to college.
