? Family, friends and hundreds of mourners packed a church in Olinville on a rainy Saturday to say goodbye to a toddler who was shot and killed by a stray bullet on Easter.
SpongeBob Squarepants balloons covered the hearse carrying 2-year-old David Pacheco Jr. The boy?s mother and father left Immaculate Conception Church visibly moved by the funeral. Those in attendance said the pastor used the toddler?s eulogy to urge Bronx residents to put an end to gun violence.
Nicholas Morris, 26, has been charged in the boy?s death. Morris maintains his innocence and says he did not fire the shot that tore through the minivan as the family was headed to church. Authorities are also looking for Ronneil Gilliam.
