Mott Haven protesters carried pictures of shooting victims as they protested gun violence in the borough Saturday.
"We're walking against gun violence," said participant Awilda Cordero. "We're here to represent for the mothers who've lost their kids."
The third annual walk was organized by the Million Mom March. More than 300 residents joined in the campaign against guns, including Gloria Cruz, whose niece was killed by random gunfire three years ago.
"We need to stop burying our children," said Cruz.
Bronx elected officials including, Assemblyman Ruben Diaz (D-85th District) and Bronx District Attorney Robert Johnson, joined protesters in support of the cause.Organizers say they will continue to spread their message and also applauded Mayor Bloomberg's efforts in the battle.
