The husband of a Kingsbridge day care owner currently facing federal charges for the death of a 1-year-old has been arrested in Mexico, according to law enforcement.
Officials say Felix Herrera Garcia was on a bus in Sinaloa, Mexico when he was taken into custody by Mexican authorities and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents.
He is the fourth person to be arrested in connection to a drug operation at El Divino Nino Day Care on Morris Avenue where four children were exposed to fentanyl.
U.S. Attorney’s Office released photos of Garcia on Sept. 15 exiting the back door of the day care with shopping bags, just moments before police arrived at the scene.
He now joins his wife, Grei Mendez, cousin Carlisto Acevedo Brito and associate Renny Antonio Parts Paredes in facing federal charges for narcotics distribution resulting in death.
