Igloo expands recall for rolling coolers due to possible fingertip amputation, crushing hazards
Igloo issued a recall expansion of its 90-quart rolling coolers because of possible fingertip amputation and crushing hazards, according to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The recall expansion involves an additional 130,000 Igloo 90-quart Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers in addition to about 20,000 sold in Canada and 5,900 in Mexico that were manufactured before January 2024.
More than one million Igloo coolers were previously recalled in February 2025, bringing the total number up to nearly 1.2 million.
The commission says the date of manufacture is on the bottom of the cooler.
The recalled coolers sold in multiple body and lid color combinations have a tow handle, and the word “IGLOO” is printed on the side.
The commission recommends that customers who bought the coolers to immediately stop using them and to contact Igloo for a free replacement handle.
Since the initial recall was announced in February, Igloo received 78 reports of fingertip injuries, including 26 that resulted in amputations of fingertips, bone fractures or lacerations.
The coolers were sold at Costco, Target, Academy, Dick’s, and other stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com, Igloocoolers.com, from January 2019 through January 2025 between $80 and $140.
