The FDNY says one woman was found dead after a fatal apartment fire Tuesday morning in the Concourse Village section of the Bronx.

Sounds of sorrow have filled Grant Avenue where a 70-year-old woman lost her life. Her husband,

Frank Williams, tells News 12 their day started with small talk like any other. Williams left home this morning to do laundry just before 7 a.m. Williams says he never thought that would be a goodbye. When he returned, the apartment was on fire.

According to FDNY, they received a call this morning reporting flames at 1006 Grant Ave. just after 7:30 a.m.

"And when the fire department went in, they said they found her behind the door," Williams said.

The fire chief told News 12 they have yet to determine how that fire started, but Williams believes it was sparked by burning incense.

"It probably caught on something that she didn't know," Williams explained.

The FDNY says there were no other injuries.
