The Islanders have teamed up with Stop & Shop to help fight hunger this holiday season.
The team, along with Stop & Shop, donated 2,000 turkeys to Island Harvest food bank and Long Island Cares.
Players and alumni unloaded turkeys Thursday at UBS Arena, the Isle's new home.
"It's an important time of year for a lot of people that can't run out and just buy a turkey, so Stop & Shop has stepped up big time to help," says former Islander Clark Gillies.
Stop & Shop's Turkey Express Program will deliver more than 21,500 turkeys to hunger relief organizations this holiday season.
