New York City and health officials are encouraging everyone to find ways to stay cool during the city's second day of the
heat wave.
Temperatures are on track to reach the triple digits Friday, making the heat deadly if not taken seriously.
Health officials say to take precautions and drink fluids, avoid strenuous activities and stay in air-conditioned rooms. The Parks Department says
Olympic-sized and intermediate pools will be open until 8 p.m. both Friday and Saturday.
Cool showers and baths may also be helpful in this kind of heat. However, experts say avoid
changing temperatures too quickly when overheated to avoid becoming nauseated or dizzy.
The heat advisory is expected to end Saturday by 8 p.m.
