The Jacob Javits Center opened its doors Wednesday as a state-run coronavirus vaccination center.

Front-line workers, residents over 65 and more stood on line when the Javits Center opened its doors at 8 a.m. to those who scheduled appointments to receive their vaccines.

The center is one of five state-run vaccine centers to help ramp efforts to get more shots to New York City residents.

This is the second time that the Javits Center has been part of treating patients during the coronavirus pandemic.

The facility was turned into a 4,000 bed hospital in April at the height of the pandemic in New York.

The center will be able to administer 10,000 vaccines a day to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.

Mayor Bill de Blasio and other officials say they need more vaccine distribution from the federal government is needed now that more New York residents are eligible to get vaccinated.
