A Union County woman celebrated a milestone anniversary of a lifesaving procedure.

Mayra Rodriguez marked 14 years since the original implantation of her ventricular assist device.

She's the longest-living person in New Jersey with the device. Only 40 patients in the U.S. have lived more than 14 years with one.

Rodriguez spent the day celebrating alongside her world-renowned team of heart transplant surgeons at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.
