Joey Boots, a radio personality and comedian known for his work on the Howard Stern Show, has died. He was 49.
Police say Boots, whose real name was Joseph Bassolino, was found unconscious and unresponsive in his Bedford Park apartment. The cause of death was not immediately known, but police say he had no visible trauma.
Boots's most memorable catchphrase was "Baba Booey." He joined Stern at the turn of the century. Members of Stern's famous radio show are known as "Wack Packers."
Boots was born in the Bronx and grew up on Long Island, but had also lived in other states and spent six years in the Army.
He also had his own uncensored podcast. His last episode was recorded last week.
