The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is back in use across the city after the Centers for Disease Control lifted the national pause Friday night.

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine had been placed on pause for 11 days after the CDC reported 15 confirmed cases of blood clots out of nearly 8 million doses administered.
Dr. Rossi Hassad, of Mercy College, told News 12 in a statement that, "we tolerate much more risk for commonly used medications and other vaccines."
The CDC, state and city all now say they believe the benefits outweigh the risks.
As of now, only city and state-run sites are resuming the Johnson & Johnson doses, and while it is in stock private pharmacies, they're waiting on word from higher-ups in corporate before they start resuming those vaccines as well.
