A violent Fourth of July weekend ended with more bullets ringing out in both the Bronx and Brooklyn.
The NYPD is investigating a shooting that they say left three people in critical condition at 306 East on 171st Street in the Claremont section of the Bronx.
Detectives say this incident occurred around 8 p.m. Sunday about a block away from a deadly shooting that happened just a few hours earlier.
Police were called a little before 6 p.m. to a shooting on 170th Street where they say they found a 29-year-old man shot in front of 221 East 170th Street.
Authorities say he was shot once in the chest and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Around the same time over in Brownsville, police say officers responded to another fatal shooting shortly before 6 p.m.
Detectives say the 21-year-old man who was shot in the chest died at Brookdale Hospital.
These were just three of several dozen gun violence incidents that the NYPD had to respond in the past week alone.
The NYPD has not made any arrests in the three separate incidents and there are no details as to why they occurred.
