Junior's Restaurant and Bakery is celebrating its 70th anniversary in Downtown Brooklyn with desserts while encouraging residents to vote in the upcoming election.
The Brooklyn staple is offering cupcakes and cheesecakes that say "Vote 2020," which staff says represent every American citizen's Democratic right to vote.
A portion of the proceeds from the limited edition cupcakes and cheesecakes goes to the Brooklyn Hospital Foundation.
The restaurant is also offering an online sale of $7 savings for seven days so customers can enjoy a full-priced cake at a discount.
The manager of the Junior's location in Downtown Brooklyn says he hopes for another seven decades in the neighborhood.
"The thing is that we're a staple of Brooklyn," says Hasting Stainrod. "People come here to kick back, relax, have fun, enjoy a meal and a nice atmosphere so being in the neighborhood for 70 years is great."
The special "vote" desserts are available from now until the day after Election Day.
