The holiday season is underway and kids in Fordham were treated Friday to some early gifts from Santa.

Santa and his helpers were busy giving out free gift cards, trips to the wax museum in Manhattan and hundreds of toys. It was all part of the 12th annual Sparkling the Heart of Fordham event at Bryan Park.

Kids waited on long lines anxiously waiting for a present. In total, 800 toys and 5,000 gift cards were handed out to those patient enough to stick around.

The event went on for several hours and those who attended say it was a great time.
