KIPP NYC receives award for its computer science course, breaking diversity barriers in computer science

The students are developing apps, competing amongst each other to create new programs, and even going to Google with their creations.

KIPP College Prep High School just received the College AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award for the leading computer sciences courses they have at their school.
School staff at the Concourse Village School say they are breaking barriers and fostering a culture of gender equality and diversity in STEM education.
The students are developing apps, competing amongst each other to create new programs, and even going to Google with their creations.
The director of the program says they are excited about what this honor means and the impact it will have in getting more women into the STEM field.
