Kipp NYC'S College Prep High School held a free book fair on Thursday.

Over 250 students were invited to sample different genres and topics and bring those books home for free.

It's an annual event to promote stronger relationships between students and reading.

"As a way to get high school kids as invested and excited about reading, like in elementary school in middle school, they do the big scholastic book fairs. But then when they get to high school, is really on them to find spaces where they can get books," said school Principal Monica Samuels.
