The John F. Kennedy High School baseball team hoped to extend its perfect conference play record in a matchup with rival Alfred E. Smith High School.
The Kennedy Knights were up 7-2 in the fourth, but the Smith Warriors wouldn't give up. Steven Isasi ripped a hit to the right field wall, driving in two runs. The Warriors cut the Knights' lead to three, but the rally didn't last long. JFK fought back to an 11-4 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. Kennedy batter Danny Rodriguez went 2-4 with a double, homer and 3 RBIs. Kennedy beat Smith 15-4.
The Knights are now 6-0 in conference play.
