Lailani Muniz is fighting for the rights of trans people and for those who are dealing with an HIV diagnosis.
As a trans woman diagnosed with HIV, it hasn't been an easy road for Muniz.
She now wants to help make the path for others a little clearer.
She advocates to help get members of the trans community equal access to health care, including gender-affirming care.
After finding Amida Care, a comprehensive special needs health plan, Muniz is able to remain undetectable to HIV. She wants to let others know there's hope.
"Whether it's HIV, whether it's mental health, whether it's cancer, whatever, I just want them to know that I'm here, I'm a voice to be heard, I'm a voice not just to listen but I'm a voice to be reckoned with," Muniz says.
