India defeated the United States in the final T20 Cricket World Cup game on Long Island.

Both teams entered the game undefeated.

Though it may have been the last game, police did not let their guard down. Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder said it was the highest level of security that has been in place during the World Cup.

Most fans walked from Nassau Coliseum to get to the stadium in Eisenhower Park. As fans made their way in, they were immediately ushered into security checks where they went through a screener and checked two or three times before ever entering the grounds.

Police say they had an average of about 300 officers at the stadium alone. Police say there were K9 units, mounted police and partners from multiple agencies working together to make sure everyone is safe.

County officials say they have put a lot of work in to making sure the event rab smoothly.

“When you are charged with keeping 34,000 people safe every day – a lot of work but it's worth it. As close to perfect as you can possibly get,” said Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman.
