State lawmakers advanced a controversial proposal on Wednesday that would let Connecticut set its own vaccine recommendations.

It's in response to the Trump administration's push to remove certain vaccines from the federal list.

On Monday, a federal judge temporarily blocked federal health officials from cutting the number of vaccines recommended for children.

They also said U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. likely violated federal procedures when he revamped a key vaccine advisory committee.
