LI lawyer pleads guilty to stealing $1.5 million in wrongful death settlement

A prominent Long Island lawyer will spend nearly five years in federal prison for allegedly scamming a young girl out of more than $1 million.
Vincent Trimarco Jr. pleaded guilty to stealing $1.5 million from a wrongful death settlement back in October 2020.
The money should have gone to Rebecca Schaefer, whose father died in a Suffolk County jail.
Authorities say Trimarco Jr. spent the money on the now closed Emporium Night Club in Patchogue, as well as luxury cars and several homes Trimarco Jr. is expected to surrender on Jan. 7.
