Lickety Split Ice Cream in City Island is preparing to open for the season on May 4.

The ice cream shop has been operating for 20 years, according to owner Skip Giaco.

In addition to offering over 20 flavors of ice cream, Giaco says the business also serves as a hub for the community.

“We get to see all the neighbors and all our friends,” he said.
