Lightning struck a home on Jerome Street and Arlington Avenue in Cypress Hills Wednesday, sparking a fire.
The FDNY says they responded to the scene around 7:35 p.m. for an attic fire in a private dwelling.
The FDNY says 25 units and 106 members responded to the two-alarm fire.
The Cypress Hill family tells News 12 they are just happy to be alive. They say they felt their whole house shake and had a gut feeling that something was wrong.
It took over 100 firefighters to put out the blaze Wednesday night.
There have been no reported injuries at this time.
