And heading back to work and back to school this week. Here's what you need to know, starting off really mild, but the whole week isn't going to end up that way. In fact, some chilly days ahead and some chilly nights ahead of us as well. There are a couple of changes with the forecast. At first, we thought we'd see a little bit more rain trying to sneak in here midweek or even some snowflakes. But that forecast has changed. You'll see that here a future cast as we go our by heading into the morning, temperatures barely cooling. So it will be a milder start with forties, plenty of sunshine on the way. And then in the afternoon, more clouds will move in. But these clouds are not bringing any rain or snow, which is great news and temperatures are going to be mild in comes the cold air, temperatures on Tuesday waking up are going to be in the thirties again. So you will need the warmer coats. So Monday's high as fifties, this is above average winds that we're going to be picking up 10 to 20 miles an hour. And by the time we get to the evening after the sun sets. Well, it's going to feel quite chilly temperatures dropping into the thirties and it will be much colder, waking up on Tuesday. So here's a look at that extended forecast, dry weather. Now through most of the week for Tuesday and Wednesday, we do have some sun clouds in there but temperatures are only in the forties during the day dropping back to near 30 degrees at night. First night of Hanukkah, it will be colder dry weather as the week wraps up. And then next weekend, look at those temperatures go. There is a spike in temps, highs back into the fifties for a time and there's also a chance of rain, but that's one week out on Sunday. So be sure to stay with us this upcoming week for much more.

Well, there we are looking at some nice conditions if you're going to be heading on out a little bit on the chilly side of the pillow. But hey, it is December after all, mainly clear right now outside as we are going to be taking that view of Greenwich, a beautiful view out as we are going to be seeing that wind start to pick up as the day goes on, make sure to bring in those garbage cans anchor down those decorations for the holidays for Hanukkah starting on Thursday night as well as Christmas right around the corner just a few weeks away as we are going to see dry conditions. But changes are on the way tomorrow into the rest of the work week. We are looking at colder temps sub freezing mornings and even maybe a flurry or two potentially Wednesday and Thursday. But then yes, a shower chance is on the way another wet weekend, potentially Sunday. I think Saturday is going to be dry for the moment. So good news there as all this moisture stemming on in from the Great Lakes. So we are seeing this continue to push in from our west, a couple of stray raindrops, maybe a snowflake up in Litchfield County. But all in all looking pretty good as we are going to be. Seeing these conditions remain dry and sunny. High temperatures, upper forties, low fifties, more clouds building into the afternoon evening with a stray raindrop. Chance over into Litchfield County north of 84 as you go into the evening and then drier and colder. Look at it's near freezing or below freezing come your Tuesday morning. As we go into the afternoon, we are looking at these temperatures upper forties to around 50 degrees milder over in Bridgeport and Norwalk 46 over in Cornwall as those sunny skies, breezy conditions. But then as we go into your Tuesday, much colder 43 degrees Wednesday, 40 degrees. Then Thursday the first night of Hanukkah. After sunset, 38 much colder there, we could see a flurry or two. But then those temperatures rise up into your Friday, Saturday and Sunday, forties and fifties return. But then a chance of rain potentially to wrap up the weekend. And maybe you just have some hopes for this week specifically in the weather world that it's drier, maybe a bit warmer. Will any of those hopes come through? My wish they would just be to skip right to spring and into summer. We can't do that though. But yes, you know what? It's not a bad week to, we just have a couple of chillier days by midweek, but overall not looking bad at all. As we continue into this month of December, it's still dark and early outside right now, sunrise a few minutes after seven o'clock this morning. So still got a little less than two hours before that sky really starts to brighten up and there will be some breaks of sun early on. Temperatures are actually fine this time of day for this time of the year. 51 in Yonkers to 39 at West Point in Newburgh, 37 in Middletown. So it's a little bit more chilly in orange. Putnam Duchess in Ulster counties right now, live to the radar comple completely quiet right now after a bit of a soggy day yesterday. Now there are some showers around to our north and West can't completely rule out a Sprinkle in spots through the day today, but most of the day is fine. What we'll notice are more breaks of sun this morning and then clouds will be on the increase into the afternoon. Temperatures will top out close to around 50 or so. You can see a few sprinkles popping up. If anything, especially north of 84 there is a slight chance for a spotty Sprinkle, but most of the day will be fine this evening. And overnight tonight, clearing out for a time after midnight and then we'll do this all over again where we start off with sunshine tomorrow morning, we have more clouds increasing into tomorrow afternoon, but tomorrow will be another dry day. So in terms of what to wear today, have the jacket early this morning, the afternoon, still cool, but near 50 degrees. Actually, a couple of degrees above average for this time of the year and have the sunglasses for the start of the day. You really don't need them by the afternoon with mostly cloudy skies partial clearing overnight tonight, eventually partly cloudy. After midnight, it will be a cold feel mid thirties, but a little bit of a breeze still lingers out of the west northwest. That's a colder wind so it can feel like the upper twenties to about 30 or so into early tomorrow morning. Tomorrow's highs will be chillier, lower forties, increasing clouds after early morning sun near 40 for Wednesday and Thursday as well. By Friday, temperatures come up a bit upper forties and low fifties into the weekend. Saturday, the drier half of the weekend, we could again be looking at a situation where Sunday is a little bit wet and then right back to dry weather with highs in the upper forties for next Monday through Wednesday.

Let's talk about the wet weather. Now, we're over here in the weather center with meteorologist Julian C right. Julian. I feel like it has been raining since we all woke up this morning and it really pretty much has, especially with the light drizzle. Now that we're starting to transition to the good news is that when we wake up tomorrow, Tama, it's not going to be rain. I know finally. Right. So getting into what we can expect for next or for the start of next week, Monday in itself, we are looking for drier conditions and sunshine. So we are into our last remnants of rain across the island and we saw quite a bit of it for today near an inch for many of us. About uh three quarters of an inch from the airport. Jefferson and much of Suffolk County and mainly for the eastern end of Nassau County. But others did see about a half of an inch of rainfall or at least near it. Now, the other issue we're gonna be watching for from tonight's going its small is some foggy conditions. So just note that visibility is gonna be on the lower end as we wait up for tomorrow, especially near Huntington. 44 degrees areas of fog going to be chilly and for our school day forecast we're gonna be seeing in our afternoon. We're looking at those fifties rolling in with early sun as well. A quick look at what we're gonna be seeing for our 10 day forecast. Just notes it is going to be colder after mild conditions for Monday and then we'll warm up for the weekend. All right, Julian.

Look at your forecast with meteorologist Michelle Powers Michelle, what can we expect? All right. Well, that alarm is going to be going off before you know it. And good news is the weather will have improved. Sunshine is on the way as we start the new work week here. So hopefully that should put a smile on your face and give you a little bit of a boost of energy in the morning after a very soggy sunday, this upcoming week is going to be a colder week for us. Excluding tomorrow, tomorrow is great and there could be some rain on the way by next weekend. So we have several dry days in a row and the weather has actually changed a little bit for us this upcoming week. Well, those winds are back by tomorrow afternoon, a little bit dusty at point. So if tomorrow is your trash pickup day and you don't get home until later, that trash can be moved slightly here. We're looking at winds 10 to 15 miles an hour, but gusts are going to be a little bit higher than that. Now, taking a look at that extended forecast, temperatures will drop. Tuesday, you'll feel that effect. Highs, only in the forties, lows at night will be in the thirties and same thing for Wednesday and Thursday. Now it looks drier. Midweek. There's going to be a storm developing offshore a little too far away from us now to really see any type of precipitation. Now, temperatures warm up the end of the week and next weekend back into the fifties, but Sunday could be some rain. So you will need those umbrellas once again. And if you have outdoor plans next weekend, you might want to have a plan be for Sunday. And that's a look at your local forecast come.
