Bronx residents exploring Little Italy didn't just see the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony, but were able to support local businesses in the area during Small Business Saturday.
The Belmont Business Improvement District hosted the festivities in Ciccarone Park in partnership with Love Holds Life children's cancer foundation. The event was canceled last year due to the pandemic.
Children who showed up received Christmas presents from families supported by the foundation/
Santa Claus also came for a visit. The Belmont BID says its goal is not only to spread holiday cheer, but to encourage residents to support small businesses during the season.
