A check of your local weather with storm watch team, meteorologist. H the good morning there. It's a great start to our day. Some fo is expected to dissipate as we head into the afternoon time frame. But notice our temperatures here very close to 60 degrees. That is a big departure from where we should be for this time as we tiptoeing into the month of December the first weekend of December and it does not feel like it now come, tomorrow will notice the rounds of showers heading from the overnight very early start. We're talking like 45 o'clock in the morning. That is pretty persistent throughout the first half of the day, especially right around 12 o'clock, we notice a little bit of decrease with the rain showers, but it will be on and off when it's all said and done. Notice our cumulation here close to an inch and some portions of the state, especially talking about Essex Union and Hudson counties, but it's cloudy and mild and I think that's really the silver lining for this weekend. It's gray, but it's still nice and warm and definitely great to head out with a little bit of less layering. Right as we head into the afternoon time frame, very close to 60 degrees. Today, the clouds will continue to build and thicken throughout the evening time frame. By the overnight, not truly impactful here, we'll notice some rain falling and then more pockets of heavier and moderate rainfall come in to play right around eight o'clock tomorrow morning. So if you are heading out for Sunday service, make sure that you grab your umbrella as you're heading out the door. As you'll notice it will feature a rainy day. Rounds of rain are potentially, I'm going to be impacting large portions of central and northern New Jersey, especially after two o'clock and heading into five things slowly start to improve. First full weekend of December officially upon us, but it doesn't really feel like it out there at all. Was that 60 degrees for Saturday? Really nice. Can't complain a little wet though today. Yeah, it was a little wet a couple of hours ago, but at least we got some dry conditions to kick off the weekend. That will be quickly changing by Sunday. Here's what you can expect. Waves of rain starting Saturday night into Sunday night. So that's going to be a long duration storm where we are expecting rounds of rain, steady rain with a few downpours possible. So you're gonna have to watch for some puddles ponding on area roadways. And if you live somewhere that has poor drainage, you're probably going to see some more of that localized flooding. In terms of tomorrow morning, we're starting off chilly. Temperatures near 46 degrees areas of fog will be to move into our area. It will lift and clouds will still be with us throughout the afternoon with temperatures topping out near 58 degrees muted sunshine. So not seeing that sunshine that we like to see, but at least it's going to remain dry. During the evening, it is still going to remain dry with clouds, but showers do arrive late after midnight. That's where we start to see some of that wet weather pushing through. But at least we got these unseasonably mild temperatures. Our average high 49 degrees. We're not going to see the forties until the midweek. And that's also where we start to see there. I say some festive flakes returning back to our area. But in the meantime, let's just enjoy the dry weather. So some clouds and fog to start our Saturday, it is going to remain dry throughout the day. Temperatures will be topping out near 58 degrees and we got some rain.

First weekend of December. But hey, it feels like November still. We have mild air in place. Unfortunately, this is gonna keep fog around for the first half of the morning, especially for Westchester Rockland, maybe Putnam County getting in on widespread fog for the rest of the morning too. So basically the lower Hudson Valley has the best risk for that temperatures warm up pretty quickly. We're talking near 50 by the time you hit lunch and we could, in places like Yonkers and S A 287 hits 60 degrees what in December? But again, it does come with a lot of cloud cover. So it's not a beautiful looking day. There'll be some peaks of sun this afternoon today though. Really isn't a big issue. If you have afternoon plans. The fog is a slight problem for morning plans tonight. We do have rain mostly after midnight. So if you're a late night owl, you're getting in on that Sunday morning, it's a wash right from the start. Mostly white rain, but there will be pockets of heavy rain throughout the morning and the afternoon on Sunday. I really don't see much dry time if any during the daylight on Sunday it goes soup weather, it goes gloomy and, you know, it's not cold but it's gonna feel cold when you have that kind of rain just so widespread across the area. Monday morning commute. Not that we want to talk about the commute on a Saturday morning, but either way Monday morning does look good if you're planning it. Ok. How about rain again? Not much if any today. But tomorrow I am expecting half of an inch to an inch of rain across the Hudson Valley. So that's pretty decent. But it happens over the course of the whole day, 100% guarantee it does rain. But again, we're not expecting this to be a really heavy rain. It's just a persistent steady rain all day. Temperatures drop into the forties for the upcoming week.

It's gonna cool down again in the 10 day. Let's talk about the bigger issue, which is going to be the rain tomorrow. So we do have cloudy skies all weekend, obviously a fog out there this morning too. So that's creating some visibility issues. But on Sunday, it is a steady rain for a good chunk of the day. So today is the pick out of the weekend. There'll be some peaks of sunshine this afternoon around lunch, but not much of it. Temperatures are in the mid ff maybe even upper fifties if we get enough sunshine, but I would not count on the sun. It's gonna be a possibility that we, you got a few breaks in the clouds, but most of the day is pretty cloudy. This is 5 p.m. the sun is already set and temperatures are still in the fifties. So you don't need the heavy winter jacket. Just a light jacket. Today will do dinner time is mainly dry, but after 89 o'clock, there could be some spritzes and stray showers. It's a all day full LG wash out on Sunday, light rain in the morning, check this out. Temperatures are in the fifties in the morning, that's above average for the afternoon at this point in the year. But we don't warm up on Sunday. It's gonna stay 50 all day with this very persistent, very steady and very damp rain that just sticks around until I'd say about six o'clock or so. So, if you have any brunch lunch, early dinner plans Sunday, I just don't see a lot of opportunity for dry time for you here. So we're gonna keep that in mind. Temperatures are not bad all the way through Monday. We're hanging out in the fifties. Today's high of 56 is the warmest that we've actually seen since mid November morning. Lows are in the forties, so no worries about frost. No worries about cold when you're stepping out the door. Tuesday morning, we're back down to 36. So that's kind of setting the stage for a cooler upcoming work week, 46 there, 43 on Wednesday and 42 on Thursday. It's not the coldest set we've seen, but it is definitely pretty chilly for that first night of Hanukkah. Expected to definitely feel like it is December, but we rebound a little bit next weekend with another chance for some rain. Just a little heads up on that. But the work week does look dry. Not that we want to talk about the work week on a Saturday, but that's how it's shaping up

Our fly meteorologist right there, Alex. Kama. Alex. What do you got for us? Thanks. Hi. Well, I don't want to burst your bubble. So we're going to start talking about good stuff. We've got mild weather with highs in the fifties and cloudy skies. Yes, but it is dry today. So those are the good things about this weekend. Unfortunately, tomorrow, if you have plans, you need the umbrella to join you back as the special guest. We've got plenty of rain coming our direction. Tomorrow, temperatures are nice all afternoon actually. Really by mid morning we're heading mid f there is some of this low cloud cover and fog lingering for the early morning. I do think that clears out by lunchtime highs today hit close to 60 if you are heading into midtown, you just might hit 60 same out there on Staten Island. But here in the Bronx, we're expecting temperatures to be just a bit below that. You're in the forties and close to 50 overnight tonight. So that's a mild feel, but it does come with showers starting around nine or so. And then a widespread rain pretty much all day Sunday especially. It looks like the morning time right now that east breeze feels gross. Let's time it out for you. You see again pretty cloudy tonight, but mainly dry until around midnight. Midnight is light shower activity and then it becomes a steady moderate rain for Sunday morning. So you need the umbrella, you need to use the windshield wipers and you just need your patience too. If you're walking around outside in the mid morning on Sunday, it is just a soaker. Look at the yellows and oranges. This is some solid, pretty steady rain. This is two o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday. It doesn't clear out until about 56 o'clock. So the whole day time it's gloomy and it's miserable. It's a guarantee it's going to rain and then we are dry for the work week. So that's good news. Unfortunately, we don't want to talk about the work week on a Saturday. We'll do it anyway though. We're expecting temperatures to drop into the forties on Tuesday and Wednesday. Then we are bogging out Thursday morning, start of Hanukkah. Things start to warm up into next weekend. So a little bit of an improvement there with another chance of rain.

With a look at your hyper local forecast that looks pretty good this morning felt good. Is it going to stick around? Yes. Do you know, I think it will, you know, especially with these temperatures, as I think really the silver lining for this weekend's weather story now notice close to 55 degrees by one o'clock and three. What's not to love, notice our weather icons though. Yes, it's cloudy and it will remain that way. Some limited sunshine into the afternoon could be expected, but this is what we're also trying for tomorrow. Some showers a light in nature, widespread and long lasting. So think for the better half of tomorrow, you're going to be using the umbrellas, especially if you're heading out and about for tomorrow when it's all said and done totals look like this. So anything from a half, close to three quarters for coastal communities and even more upwards towards touring in Litchfield County closer to an inch. So it's nuisance rain. It's not so much. Um We're not expecting any concerns with the system tomorrow today. Enjoy cloudy and mild temperatures and some showers off to our north could be dripping back down. But I really think that for the most part we are going to send, still stand dry for today. 45 heading into fifties west and take a look at that 56 degrees. It's mild. I mean, we really shouldn't be seeing these types of temperatures as we're heading started as we're getting started into the month of December. But here we go. Don't worry that downward trend and temperatures is coming very soon as we walk you through our future cast by two o'clock in the morning. So overnight, not truly impactful when the showers arrive but very long lasting. So as we're waking up around 56 o'clock in the morning, tomorrow, the showers are here and they're here to stay. Sometimes they start to lighten up a little bit, becoming a bit more isolated. And then by 10 o'clock in the morning, we'll notice those more moderate heavier pockets noted here in the dark green as well as the yellows heading into lunch time, you'll still need that umbrella by two o'clock heading into four. That's when we're starting to notice a bit more impactful wet weather. So take it slow if you're driving, um, especially in the merit as well as 95 by five into seven o'clock, things exit calming down significantly. The clouds will linger until Monday. So perhaps maybe a damp start heading into Monday and a bit more seasonable temperatures return by Tuesday, Wednesday, 39. By Thursday. The start of Hanukkah.

There's nothing better than a nice long summer vacation. But sometimes it is hard to relax if you're worried about the safety of your home. Yeah. To find out how to keep your home secure when you're away. I got a hands on lesson from HGT V's home inspector Joe. Check it out. Home inspector Joe, every 15 seconds a home is burglarized in the US. So, what can we do to keep our homes safe, especially while we're on vacation. Well, first of all, every 15 seconds, that's a lot. That's actually scary. That's actually scary. So, in this interview here the house is getting robbed me multiple times. What can you do? Well, let's start with something that is very easy but it's overlooked. A lot of times. Lock your windows, you know, it, it's not hard to do that but lock your windows, right. You probably close your blinds too, right? People aren't looking in and saying no, nobody's home because I'm sure they're staking out a lot of this home to make sure people are gone all the time. Like the movie home alone. What did they do there? Stalked out the house and neighborhood, everyone has a door in the house, make sure everything is locked and probably both locks too. Not just one, top, top, top bottom. If you have a storm door, lock the storm door, you know, lock everything up. You, you're, you're leaving, you're not gonna be home. They say the harder you make it for a burglar, then the harder they will be for them to actually come in and take it. So if your storm door is locked, then they're like, oh, that's one distraction to try to get them away from your house. We're speaking about locking up your home, making sure things are safe. A lot of people have alarms too. Right. Yeah, those really help. Do you think the alarms are, are huge right here? I have one right here. Um, it's got the motion sensors on all the windows in the house. It's got the motion sensors on all the doors in the house even has shatterproof. If somebody breaks the window, sometimes, maybe people want to break the window and slide through it. You break these windows, the alarm goes off, it goes right to the police department. Police department will call me. No, I didn't do it here. They're here right away. Now, another thing that I have on my alarm is like the water thing you put by your water heater in case water hits it, then you get an alert too and it goes off because a lot of times if some emerging happen, emergency happens where it's flooded or pull in and water main, any of that stuff, then it will help with that as well. It does. I actually have three of them. I have one in my laundry room. I have one by my hot water heater, my boiler and by my, my, uh, my main incoming water. This is your security even when you're not away when you're home. Like if I'm home and I hear the door, if you open up, you open up that door right there, you'll hear it. You open that door a little bit right there. No option. So, you know exactly what doors open. Yeah, if I'm upstairs sleeping, I hear garage doors open. What's the problem? You know, I'm running, I'm running. I'm all right. What's next next next? I got, I got another one outside. Ok, let's go outside. Ok. A lot of people are familiar with the ring doorbells. How can that help in this situation? You see everything all the time you're always on, on, on the go on what's happening right now. So I'm in Florida. I'm over here, I'm in Jamaica on the beach. My ring camera goes off. Hey, it's motion detected or motion detected, the front door with the doorbells ringing. I go on there and I can see, see everything right, everything in the, everything you see that camera sees and I see on my phone no matter where I am speaking. Of deterrence lights can help deter people away as well. Right. All the time, all the time. Having more, the more light you have, the better off it is, you know, houses that are in the complete dark makes it easier for someone to come and rob and do what they do what they want to take their time. So, having a timer like this one or my little car, my little light down here, this one is, is a motion sensor and it's also solar powered. So I'm not using any power for it. It operates on its own. You walk within my driveway, that light automatically turns on, you know, and that can make certain people suspect, you know, when they get nervous and they'll run away. Yeah, worst case it'll help them be seen on the camera, the more light, the better. Ok. Let's go on to another one. Go ahead. I got you. Another great deterrent is having a car in the driveway. You know, even if you, let's say you're taking your car on vacation and you don't have another car, maybe your neighbor can park in your driveway while you're away or a family member or, or whatever the case is just keeping a car present, you know, let somebody know possibly there's, there might be somebody living in the house or somebody home at that given time. And also if your car doesn't drive and you have an automatic garage door opener, take that automatic opener out of your car and leave it in the house because if somebody breaks into your car, they hit the button now they're in your house. That's not good. That's great to do any time. Even if you are home, make sure your doors are locked if you keep that in there. Yeah. Yeah, I don't even keep my garage door opener in the car. I have the button in the car and you can only use it when the car is on. So you don't have it. That's it. Yep. Pools are always a big safety concern. But how can we make sure that our yard and our pool stay safe while we're gone? Number one, lock the gate that's surrounding your pool. Lock that gate number, it better be a self closing gate. But when you leave, lock the gate, that's number one, number two, you know, they have sensors like I have a sensor for this pool. If somebody jumps in my pool without, with that sensor in, it's gonna go to my phone and it's gonna say, uh you know, something splashed in your pool, bla bla bla check on it. Um Now if I'm away and I see that on my phone, I have my ring camera right up top there, then don't have the ladder in the pool, right. The ladder is only there when it's in use. Everything is gated in, you know, and if you have little kids do not let those kids out of your sight. Never let a little kid out of your sight in that pool. You know, it is. That is like the scariest thing in the world they fall in, they go straight down. You're never gonna know. That's why the sensor comes into play as well. I already feel safer. I'm ready for vacation. Yeah, I'm ready to go in that pool right now right now before we get too comfortable in the and are chilling on the beach. You have one more tip for us before going on vacation. One more tip. It's a good one. This is a good one. And everyone does this. They don't follow it. They do it. Stop doing it, stop doing this. Uh, when you go on vacation, don't say, hey, I'm on vacation. I'm in Florida for the next week and a half. Look at my life. This is what I'm doing. I'm drinking. Don't say that. Just, just don't put anything on social media, take your pictures, come home and then do your posting. But I, I just watch all the time. People like I'm like, wow, no one's home. So any burglar, any person that's hungry needs money or has an addiction or something. They're gonna say, wow. I know that person. I know where they live. Boom. No one's home like for me, uh, you'll, you won't see me posting when I'm on vacation. You're not gonna know when I'm on vacation. You know, even when I come back, I don't gotta tell everyone I'm going, oh, I'm in Florida. Why I make no one needs to know. I'm, it's, it's ok. It's ok. All right, I'm down here to enjoy myself and relax. But yes, don't tell everyone you're on vacation, especially whether, you know it, it's thousands of miles away and no one's home at your house. That's just, that's a big, big, big. No, no. All right. So now we can toast and enjoy our vacation. Safe, our home is safe, is safe. Drinking the water and relax some really great tips before you head on vacation. I'm, I feel safer already now. Good stop.
