Local business reserves table as tribute to fallen soldiers

A local business is “pouring one out,” to fallen heroes, setting up a tribute in their honor.
The 1840 Tavern in West Nyack has reserved one table, setting up 13 beers, poured in honor of the 11 marines, one soldier, and one sailor killed in Thursday’s suicide bomber attack in Afghanistan.
Dennis Rodriguez, a former senior airman in the Air Force says he is still in shock, following the deadly attack on American troops.
The table display is the idea of restaurant server Shannon Selemo, who wanted to pay homage to the fallen American warriors.
While this table will eventually seat regular customers again, the memory of our nation’s historic “13” and all of the servicemembers who continue to stand in harm’s way will never be forgotten.
