Millions of New Yorkers had their eyes to the skies for Monday’s solar eclipse, but one local Riverdale library made sure there was just as much excitement on the ground.
The park behind Spuyten Duyvil Library was filled with families and friends geared up for the solar eclipse. The park was filled with games for the kids including giant LEGOs, cornhole and science lessons brought to life.
"It's so important for us to be able to hold events like this to bring the community together,” said Melissa Koszer, children’s librarian at Spuyten Duyvil Library. “And not just to have everybody in the same space and the same park but have everybody experiencing library joy."
The library provided all in attendance with plenty of space and the safe glasses to wear in order to fully witness the eclipse.
