Long Island shops offer special deals for Small Business Saturday

Long Islanders got their holiday shopping done at some of their favorite mom-and-pop shops during Small Business Saturday.
The owner of Chrison & Bellina in Oyster Bay says the day is a reminder that not every purchase needs to made online.
While some small businesses say this day is so important to their bottom line, Theodore's Books in Oyster Bay says the day has marked its grand opening.
Its the brainchild of a former congressman, author and now bookstore owner Steve Israel. He says that even in the time of big box stores and online retail, an independent bookstore is exactly what the community needs right now.
Across the street, Katya Witthuhn, of Bluebird Chocolates, says sales of her specialty chocolates are booming. She says she is glad to have roots in a town where people seem to really like shopping small.
