Friends, family and officers gathered in Hewlett Friday to big their farewells to Lt. Zachary Slavin.

The NYPD officer from Rockville Centre died of a 9/11-related illness.

Fellow NYPD officers paid their respects with a motorcycle brigade.

Slaving served the Honor Legion and Jewish Officers Society for over 20 years.

He leaves behind two children.
