What looks like a simple shipping container is being transformed into high-tech solutions by a New Jersey company.

In East Riverton, Sea Box is taking standard containers and turning them into advanced, specialized facilities used around the world.

The company still produces traditional containers for shipping and storage.

But leaders say their focus goes far beyond that.

“We do make the simple ones, but we have our niches to make the more exotic ones,” said founder and CEO Jim Brennan.

Sea Box designs and builds containers that serve as everything from laboratories to control centers.

Officials say their units are used by scientists in remote areas like Greenland, as well as for energy storage, generators and even FAA control towers.

The company also creates mobile hospitals and command centers.

Each container is engineered to fit a specific purpose while remaining portable and durable.

Around 300 employees help build and test the units before they are shipped out.

Sea Box began in 1983 as a small operation selling used containers.

“Started by myself. My wife was helping me… and we started with one person,” Brennan said.

Today, the company supplies containers to the U.S. government and customers around the globe.

Leaders say the goal is simple — take any idea and make it work inside a modular box.
