The annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer returned Sunday to Brooklyn and the Bronx.
Survivors, supporters and sponsors alike flocked in pink at Coney Island Boardwalk in Brooklyn. Meanwhile in the Bronx, they gathered in Bay Plaza Shopping Center.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the U.S., according to the American Cancer Society. The ACS is also investing $78.1 million in breast cancer-specific research through grants.
Walk organizers hope to raise $400,000 through Sunday's events.
