Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani announced Monday that instead of a traditional swearing-in ceremony on Inauguration Day, he is planning a large block party in Manhattan.

The public swearing-in will still be on the steps of City Hall on Jan. 1, but Mamdani’s team says a block party will span from Liberty Street in the Financial District to Murray Street in Tribeca.

New Yorkers who attend the party will be able to enjoy music and watch the festivities from dedicated viewing areas.
