The indictment of Argenis Baez, the man accused of murdering his estranged wife, Arianna Reyes-Gomez, was postponed Friday someone on the grand jury tested positive for COVID-19.

Baez is currently facing charges of murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.

All week, New Yorkers have been paying their respects to the 31-year-old transit officer who was found in her Bronx apartment early Monday morning in what police believe is a case of domestic violence.

Police sources say she allegedly had plans to leave Baez, who later turned himself in to police.

Reyes-Gomez was found in her Bronx apartment around 3 a.m. with stab wounds to her body.

Baez was last in court Tuesday for his arraignment. The prosecution at the arraignment said footage shows him forcing himself into her apartment that morning, then leaving with a knife.

Prosecutors also said bloody clothes were found at his home through a search warrant, and that Baez confessed the crime to his aunt, whose son called 911. If found guilty, Baez could face a life sentence.

Baez is being held without bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday where an indictment is likely to be handed down.
