A Bronx man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a 14‑year‑old boy in Allerton late last month, according to police.

Roderick Allen, 55, is charged with attempted murder, assault and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. He was taken into custody on June 6.

The shooting happened on May 29, around 3:50 p.m. near Cruger and Burke avenues. Police say Allen approached the teen and got into a verbal dispute with him before pulling out a firearm and opening fire.

The teen was struck in the left leg and suffered a graze wound to the right leg. EMS took him to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

Police say Allen ran from the scene, heading south on Cruger Avenue, before being identified and arrested as part of the case.
