The first incident happened on Feb. 1 at 6am. Police say the thief went into the deli at 288 East 174th St., took out a gun and threatened the 28-year-old employee behind the counter. The thief struck again at 340 East 174th St. just after 7 a.m. on February 6th. He approached four store employees there, took out a gun and demanded money and property. He struck a 66-year-old man in the face with his gun, took his wallet, then pointed the gun at a 46-year-old woman and took her cellphone. He then sprayed a mystery substance in a 36-year-old woman's face before taking her cellphone and also took another 35-year-old woman's phone. The 66-year-old man and 36-year-old woman were taken to local hospitals and are expected to be OK.
