A man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for an attempted shooting in 2021, as well as conspiracy to distribute narcotics, including fentanyl.
The defendant, Joseph Orengo Jr., confronted a man on a residential street in the Bronx in broad daylight over a drug debt. The man Orengo was speaking with drove away, which is when Orengo fired two shots at him.
Orengo pleaded guilty before a judge prior to his sentencing. He also faces an additional five years of supervised release on top of his prison sentence.
