Police confirm that 26-year-old Fareed Adeyi is the man who was fatally shot Tuesday at 3254 White Plains Road just before 7 p.m.
When police arrived on the scene they found Adeyi shot multiple times in the chest. He was rushed to NYC Health+Hospitals/Jacobi where he died.
Surveillance video shows a person running in the area of the shooting.
In the area of the 47th Precinct shootings are up more than 50% this year, with 26 shootings happening to date and 36 victims. This time last year there were 16 shootings and 24 victims.
Right now, police say they don't know what led up to the shooting but they're looking for a man in a red hoodie who ran away from the scene.
