Police say a man was shot when an argument escalated around 6:30 p.m. Thursday at a deli on East 236th Street.
A 24-year-old male victim sustained two gunshot wounds. One bullet struck his left thigh, and the other hit his abdomen.
He was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he is expected to be OK.
One neighbor who comes to the deli often says she was shocked to hear the news.
"It is shocking because this is a quiet neighborhood. And then for it to happen to someone we know too is even crazier," says Onyda.
Police are looking for three suspects between the ages of 20-30 years old.
Two of the suspects left the scene in a white sedan and the third got away on foot.
Police ask anyone with information to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
