A man was shot while sitting inside his car in University Heights, according to police.
It happened just after 6 p.m. Thursday near 2 East 181st St.
The NYPD says the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the left side of the torso. His age was not immediately available.
Paramedics took him to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he is expected to recover, according to police.
A black sedan sat at the scene hours later, riddled with bullet holes.
Investigators say the alleged gunman took off running after the shooting, traveling southbound on Jerome Avenue. He was seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt and red headphones.
No arrests have been made as of Thursday night.
